Bodily Injury

This covers claims for physical injuries suffered by third parties due to the actions of an insured.

Bodily injury is defined as (A) a cut, abrasion, bruise, burn, or disfigurement; (B) physical pain; (C) illness; (D) impairment of the function of a bodily member, organ, or mental faculty; or (E) any other injury to the body, no matter how temporary.

Georgia Statue of Limitation

Georgia statue of limitation for bodily injury is 2 years from the date of the incident. If the at the at fault party receives a citation for the accident. The statue of limitation is extended to the date the citation is settled. Example Date of loss is 01/01/2020 SOL would be 01/01/2022. If the at fault party is issued a citation and goes to court and it is settled 06/01/2020 the SOL would be 06/04/2022

Georgia State Minimum Limits

Georgia law requires that all drivers must have at least the following required minimum auto insurance coverages for your vehicle: Bodily injury liability: $25,000 per person and $50,000 per accident. Property damage liability: $25,000 per accident

Uninsured Motorist Coverage Under Motor Vehicle Liability Policies

(1) No automobile liability policy or motor vehicle liability policy shall be issued or delivered in this state to the owner of such vehicle or shall be issued or delivered by any insurer licensed in this state upon any motor vehicle then principally garaged or principally used in this state unless it contains an endorsement or provisions undertaking to pay the insured damages for bodily injury, loss of consortium or death of an insured, or for injury to or destruction of property of an insured under the named insured’s policy sustained from the owner or operator of an uninsured motor vehicle, within limits exclusive of interests and costs which at the option of the insured shall be:
(A) Not less than $25,000.00 because of bodily injury to or death of one person in any one accident, and, subject to such limit for one person, $50,000.00 because of bodily injury to or death of two or more persons in any one accident, and $25,000.00 because of injury to or destruction of property; or
